The Newfoundland and Labrador Outfitters Association (NLOA) is recognized by the provincial and federal governments as the voice of the outfitting industry in Newfoundland and Labrador. Designation as a member of the Newfoundland and Labrador Outfitters Association assures clients that you are a professional business operator, bound to a code of ethics, and that you meet all legislative requirements to operate in the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador. The NLOA is the lead voice for outfitting in Newfoundland and Labrador, acting as the industry watchdog and lobby group for our members. Through its strategic partnerships with various government departments, the NLOA provides its members with access to marketing and professional development opportunities as well as information on how to maintain a strong presence in an increasingly competitive international martketplace.
As a member of NLOA, you have the opportunity to bring forward issues that affect you and your business. Through the NLOA, your voice will be heard provincially and nationally, as the NLOA is a member of the Canadian Federation of Outfitters Association(CFOA). The Canadian Federation of Outfitters Associations provides its members with a strong national voice supported by outfitting businesses and associations throughout the country. It is a member of the federally appointed Hunting and Angling Advisory Panel (HAAP) whose mandate is provide advice to the Government of Canada on a range of federal policies, programs and activities related to conservation and hunting, trapping and angling .
Your membership in the NLOA gives you the right to attend and bring resolutions to the NLOA Annual General Meeting and to vote on all issues and resolutions that are brought forward at the meeting. The NLOA Convention, held in conjunction with the annual general meeting, offers professional development and networking opportunities as well as industry updates from government partners. NLOA members regularly receive vital information and updates on current and potential industry issues, industry opportunities, special services and products and numerous resources that will assist you in your day-to-day operations. As a member of NLOA, you can participate in government funded marketing opportunities and have your business profiled on the NLOA website and on the NL Tourism website through the government ad package program. Members of NLOA can take advantage of discounts offered by our business sponsors including Provincial Airlines and Munn Insurance and can access extra big game licences at a discounted rate in the NLOA draw.
